Views from 7k Feet

Hi, here are some pics from my run Friday. A thunder storm was rolling in, just plain ole weather perfection.

Very nice man across the street brought his dogs over, I'm hoping they make it back over here for our World Cup watching party.

Teshting

(there's an elk down there! Wo)

Spending the week in NM, at a beautiful house high in the mountains. So far we've seen 2 elk that would make my hunter friends weak in the knees, a large black bear, countless deer and 2 orange tomcats. These have all been right by the house.

I'm thinking hard about going for a run, but there's a strong chance I'll pass out. Might be awesome. Sherioushly..

Stay tuned.

Sexy Typography

Click here to check out some of Seb Lester's typography. There are a couple that I would love to have! I'll just keep that on my wish list. Maybe someday...

Photos worth at least 150 words.

I'm sure we all have at least one awkward family photo hidden away somewhere, but hopefully they don't hold a candle to these masterpieces. Enjoy...

Plants are good. Plants are great. For them to grow I'll have to wait...

Yeah, that was a lame attempt at some plant prose, but since I haven't posted in a while, thought I'd just give you a sampling of some plant varieties I've grown fond of, for various reasons. The above image is one that I am anxious to get my mits on, but I haven't been able to find it around here. It's supposed to attract hummingbirds and smells like Juicy Fruit gum to boot! I will take pictures of my current plants and post soon, but for now here are some stock images:

Celosia - Blooms are so vibrant and colorful and last forever

Licorice Basil - Smells great and has some interesting blooms

Geraniums - Colorful, hearty and seem to be everblooming

Aloe Vera - Kind of a family plant. My Grandfather gave me some of his Aloe Vera plants years ago and taught me how to raise' em right. I still have those plants, and then some...

Spearmint/Peppermint - Smell delicious and the Peppermint has to be the most agressive herb I've seen. I've got tentacles growing over the sides of the pot just looking to root. Kind of cool actually, but they will have to stay in pots.

Lavender/French Lavender - Such wonderful smelling plants, and they have very interesting blooms on them

If the feeling takes you there, leave a comment or suggestion. I wonder how many comments I will get? So many.

MGMT - Check it!

If you're in the market for some new music, and why wouldn't you be, please please please check out MGMT! Erik and I stumbled onto them recently and we are hooked. Their album is called 'Oracular Spectacular'. They have sort of a Flaming Lips/The Shins flavor to them, if you are into that sort of thing. Delightfully refreshing!

Here's a video for their song 'Time to Pretend'. They also seem to be cat people. Just more to love...

Something new to fear.

Kind of cool, incredibly creepy. My Little Pony dolls transformed into movie characters. Seriously, it's like they are staring through your soul. Check out some others at the artist's website.

"I feel emotional but good..."

I think I've figured out how San Diegoans are so laid back. I thought maybe it was the cool vibe and beachy good times, but not so much. Some smarty pants in sunny San Diego thought it would be a good idea to open up a store, where anyone can go, and just break stuff. Damn that looks like fun, and it's for a good cause. They use the little glass bits left over from the breakage, for mosaic art which helps charities and art students. Same thing really. I know it must work, because of the reviews their customers have left behind. I want to feel emotional but good too! I wonder if I have any old plates lying around...

The Blog of Jamie

If you're looking for a great blog, one to check out would be "Our Life In Holland". It's written by one of my best friends in the whole world, Jamie. She is a nurse, a super cool chick, a fantastic mom/wife and judging by her blog, a gifted writer as well. It really is a great read. If you get a chance, stop by and check it out, and leave her a comment while you're there. Comments rule.

Radiohead - "Just"

Radiohead is greatness. Just one of life's little truths. This is one of my favorite back-in-the-day songs/videos from them. I just wish I could read lips.

John Mayer - "Say"

According to Larry this song is up for some awards. Yay for JM. I love this song, and everything about this song. It's one of those songs that makes you stop and think about things. Hope you enjoy it too.

A few great songs/videos for your day...

Sometimes you need a certain song or two to get you through your day. These have been playing on a loop in my head for the past couple of days, so I thought I'd share. Hope they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Can you say 2 gifts in 1?

Chanel. Louis Vuitton. Beef jerky. Someone's finally brought them together, and it's about time. Jerky rules.

Totally nuts. Possibly useful.

This is completely wheels off. Seriously, really?
Could be the perfect gift though, I'll have to check some reviews...

The logo says it all, or not enough...

Wow, Taiwan is one crazy place. I'm guessing it's the diapers they are selling out of their vending machines, not the actual turds, or babies. Cute logo though. Love the grill.

Still getting to know my iPhone, hugging it out.

Well this little gadget really is pretty neat, cool games (free) and helpful apps (free) but I think I'd like to try getting to know it on another level. Might start putting the calendar to use, doing some syncing, you know, just letting our love blossom and see where it takes us, my iPhone and I. But since I paid for it, is that legal? I'll find an app for that, and it better be free!
