Sacha Baron Cohen. Funny Good.

If you haven't discovered the genius that is Sacha Baron Cohen, here is a hilarious interview he did with Jon Stewart, who is pretty darn funny himself. Check it, yo...

Poppin' & Lockin'...

I had to post this little gem, and trust me when you see it, you will have to watch it at least 7 times. It's that good. Not sure what the wife is chattering about, but I am guessing her husband is training the kids for the carnival circuit and she's not too jazzed about it... The fake nap is so convincing.

Buy This CD Today!

Just wanted to drop in to recommend the new John Mayer CD "Continuum". I've been listening to this just about non-stop since I got it, and it's a great collection of songs, extremely well written and relatable stuff. To hear some samples you can go to www.johnmayer.com and check out the video for the new single "Waiting On The World To Change", but I think some of the best tracks are "I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)", "Stop This Train" and "In Repair". Trust me, it's great music. But I'm a John Mayer apologist, so maybe I'm a little bias... Also, the new Keane CD "Under The Iron Sea" is one of the most melodic albums I've heard in a long time. I was playing that nonstop, but then I got my hands on Continuum. Now they take turns...

"Can I buy you?"

This is for my dad, who has recently discovered the greatness of Borat... Enjoy!
(oh, if anyone takes offense to this video, don't worry, just remember BORAT IS JUST A CHARACTER! You may now go on with your life. Thanks for listening....)

A Bad Day That Got Better...

Well, started off this Labor Day weekend wanting to get so much done. Wanted to finalize some wedding stuff (did a tiny bit of that), wanted to get some Freelance Design work done (still working on that), wanted to exchange my cell phone that is constantly on the fritz (well, got that done, but it required tears and counting backwards from ten ALOT) and wanted to visit with my family and some amigos (got to do that, at least a little bit). It's just Murphy's Law I guess. Got a flat tire Saturday, and after getting that fixed up, was able to visit with my friend Jamie in Oklahoma which was great, but when I got back to Funky Town, filled up with gas, my transmission decided to take a holiday weekend of it's own. All this after I got a speeding Ticket on Friday. I shouldn't have been going 72mph, but gotta love the city of Fort Worth for refusing to give warnings, only tickets. And from an Australian cop no less! It was like getting a ticket from Mel Gibson without the anti-semitic comments. So off to the mechanic tomorrow morning. Bad thing is if it's the Transmission, then I can say so long to the joy that is having paid off a car loan (which I did a few months ago). The next car I get will be better I hope. So I go to exchange my sad little cell phone, which is only a measley 1 year old and is, like the car, on official holiday, but that turned into a mess with Cingular telling me they will have to 'penalize' me for trading in my phone too early. After they are the ones who lied and said that those particular phones NEVER get returned! I even threatened to leave Cingular, and I don't think I saw one eyelash bat, no 'let me help you, oh weary customer' looks on the fat ass manager's face. We promptly cruised out of that pit and went to the place Erik got his phone. They cell Cingular as well and for some reason they were able to help me with just a $20 upgrade fee. What do you F'ing know about that! Anyway, all that aside, it was a pretty good weekend. We have cool little gadget phones now, which have kept Erik and I busy the last few hours trying to figure them out! (and trying not to break them in the process) So hopefully tomorrow evening I will be able to get the Wedding Invites finalized, get some more Freelance cranked out and get rockin' on some more seasonal designs. Maybe I'll need Wednesday and Thursday too come to think of it. That's a laundry list! So I hope next weekend is as fantastic and productive as this one (wink wink) and that we continue to get some more of this much needed rain. The lawn is breathing a sigh of relief, as am I. It's bed time...

Back From Chi-Town...

Well, Erik and I have returned from Chi-Town, the land of wind and rain (at least while we were there). We walked our legs off, but it was so much fun and we saw so many cool things! We got back on Wednesday night, and after getting to bed late, got up and headed back to work. I kinda missed my work peeps so it was good to be back, even if it's back to work. Sooo, now here it is Labor Day weekend and I'm trying my best to fit in some Wedding Planning, visiting with friends and family, working on some freelance design projects and to top it off, just a sprinkle of relaxation. It is the weekend after all!
Check out the Borat trailer and funny cat video below this post. My gifts to you, friends of the blog... More later!

Watching & Working...

While I'm at my computer working on designs I like to have a dvd or music playing, for background noise and sometimes for inspiration as well. Today I put in "The Fearless Freaks", a documentary about the band The Flaming Lips. I gotta tell you it was a pretty interesting docu-movie, and really showed what a focused inspired and creative band the Lips are. If you are a fan of unique and original music I recommend this DVD. One of my favorite Flaming Lips albums is
"The Soft Bulletin". Greatness... Right now I have the documentary "Fleetwood Mac: Rumours" playing. One of my favorite bands, ever.
Back to work!

Isn't it good to be able to laugh a little bit?

If you are a person who enjoys talk radio of the highest caliber, with humor, some hot sports opinions sprinkled in for good measure, and kick-butt in-depth analysis (that is always freaking hilarious) then you would do yourself a favor to check out 1310 The Ticket. I have the player on all day at work, my favorite shows being the Musers (in the morning), bAd Radio (noon to 3) and the Hardline (my favorite favorite of them all, 3 to 7). They are the funniest group of guys and always get me through the day laughing, and of course, up to date on the latest and greatest in the world of sports. I'm ready for NBA season to start, so we can start getting down to some Mavs talk! "Isn't it good to be able to laugh a little bit?"

And we're back....

Hi there, if anyone is even reading this right now. If you are, than welcome! Glad to see you! I have been a way a while, from the blog that is, and now hopefully I'll find time to post some things to this useful little site. Right now I'm just in the middle of planning a wedding and working like crazy. So everything is pretty much the same I would say. Gotta run, work to do. I'll be back very soon. Fingers crossed...
